Providing carpentry and literacy training for male youths in Kandahar City Objectives



Specifications of trainings were:

Curriculum for Basic literacy and numeric program made and consistent with standards and curriculum set by Literacy Department within the Ministry of Education after approval of the mentioned curriculum by Donor and Curriculum for carpentry program made and consistent with standards and curriculum set by MOLSAM

During project implementation, all participants maintained a note book with work this note book were available for review by HAPA and other monitors.

During the training transportation and refreshment provided to trainees and also after each two months HAPA distributed/provided stationary for all the trainees

at the end of the training closing ceremony conducted

Certificates and Toolkit distributed to graduated trainees so all the trainees got source of job opportunity

Each kit was contents on the following items:
Carpentry Toolkit: one Wooden Saw, one Smoothing plane, one Bevel chisel, one Bradawl (Square Blade) , one Trying Squares , one Hammer (Warrington Type) , one set Screw Drivers , one Hand Drill and one box for carpentry items
Literacy Kit: 6 Notebooks, 6 pens, 6pencils, 2sharpeners, 2 erasers and 1 Bag

Providing Vocational and literacy training Objective:
To Providing of Carpentry, construction/masonry Literacy training for Jobless Male youth of Dand District of Kandahar Province

Output

Specifications of trainings were:

40 Male youth (split into two groups of 20 participants each) participated in a training program that provided in construction/masonry, Carpentry and functional literacy and numeracy skills

Coordination Plan made through creation a steering committee with members from DoLSAM , DDA , HAPA their responsibilities were appointed for Providing all arrangements, Selection of trainees, supervision, Preparation Coordination meeting with community members and monitoring the project activities and the committee job done /perform honestly form starting the project till ending .

20 trainees (male youth) for carpentry and literacy training and 20 trainees (male youth) for Masonry and literacy training selected through suggestion GIRoA counterparts and list of identified 40 trainees approved by GIRoA counterparts from Dand District and they toke participation in five months Carpentry, masonry and literacy training . Training location and logistical plan was identified

Curriculum and work plan for carpentry, Masonry and Literacy Training Developed and submitted to LGCD Kandahar office and the mentioned curriculum approved by LGCD and all trainers thought/transfer the skill of masonry, carpentry and basic literacy components according to the mentioned curriculum and work plan

The participants participating in the Carpentry training, were the same as those participating in the Literacy/numeric training

All training supplies and materials/equipments Purchased according to the plan.
Attendance sheet and time sheet for trainers and trainees prepared and verified so all the trainees attend in the training according to the time sheet for training.

Opening and closing ceremony conducted with GIROA , DAI,DDA, Deportment of economy and HAPA representative’s presence and training started and completed according to the plan
Pre-test conducted for 40 trainees through conducting of Pre-test HAPA staff and trainers
Mid –term exam and Final exam conducted conducted for 40 trainees , the exam was taken written and practically,so new Knowledge/skill of trainees identified and HAPA got more experience/ direction for implementation of such kind of project /training in next time
project monitored and supervised by HAPA staff , DAI sub office Kandahar, .DOLSAM, Deportment of Economy of Kandahar ,DDA members and HAPA monitoring Group of Maine office and report submitted according to the Plan
Transportation and refreshment for all Trainees provided and submitted from starting the training till ending the project so all the trainees took participation in the five months training
Salary received to all Staff related to the vocational training
Toolkit distributed to all(40) trainees according to plan

Masonry Toolkit was consist from the following items:
One Measure tape, one pair Gloves, one Mason's trowel, one Square trowel, one Wooden trowel for plastering

One Mason's hammer, one Mason's level, one Mason's long level ,One Mortar bowl , one Tool box and one Masonry string

Carpentry Toolkit was consist from the following items:
One Wooden Saw, One Smoothing plane, One Bevel chisels , One Bradawl (Square Blade) , One Trying Squares , One Hammer (Warrington Type) , One set Screw Drivers ,one Hand Drill and one Tool box

Providing of Health (first Aid) and Literacy and literacy training for Women Kandahar Purpose and objectives

Introduction

Brief project description,
Humanitarian action for the people of Afghanistan (HAPA) implemented with the financial support of ASGP office 4 months training of Health / Hygiene and literacy Training for Women in 9th District of Kandahar City in 2011.

25 Women from 9th District of Kandahar City Took part in the training and got skills about first aid Health / Hygiene and literacy components Training was for 2.5 hours each day, literacy; Numeric classes were took 45 minutes and Health / Hygiene components took 1.5 hour daily during the training 15 minutes were brack, and offered 5 days for week.

The participants participating in the Health / Hygiene training, were the same as those participating in the Literacy/numeric training Curriculum for Health / Hygiene and Basic literacy and numeric program were made by HAPA, during project implementation, all participants maintained a note book with work this note book were available for review by HAPAP and other monitors. for 25 graduated women HAPA distributed certificates and kit

Contribution in improving to the lives of Afghan women and girls or enhancing the capacity of CSO to deliver services to women and girls. The 90 % women’s of Kandahar province are uneducated and 95 %un access to a good health and hygien care facilities in their family. In a number of meetings that HAPA have had with the relevant departments of Kandahar province in the past, they had requested literacy and health trainings in Kandahar province particularly for women. Women are deprived of literacy and health trainings in the province, therefore, a project of such nature will address this gap to a certain extent.

With the help of this training 25 women got complete basic health hygiene and basic literacy training during 4 months so now they are able to complete their homes and areas need in mentioned filed of the life And will address the higher illiteracy rate of women in Kandahar

And also women encouraged for education and they got source of to sharing their problems in a free environment with other women in one place The higher illiteracy rate of women in Kandahar city addressed they can to note their daily income and expenditures they encouraged for getting education by their children and boys,

Women got source for decreasing the high rate of illegal, unworthy unlawful activities against the women By encouragement the women to share their problems with each other and Government, During the training transportation and refreshment provided to trainees at the end of the training
